Purpose

Pallet Flow Racks are part of a large family of gravity flow racking systems. They provide high-density storage and access to the pallet on both sides. Thus, you can use a first-in-first-out (FIFO) system. The design of this construction has a slightly inclined rack. Thanks to it, loaded pallets move safely at a controlled rate in the storage channel.

Typically, gravity flow racks are used to store a single article. However, if the channel depth is small, you can work with FIFO and LIFO systems.

Description

Gravity flow pallet racks are ideal solutions for frozen-storage areas or perishable goods. They are good for products and areas that have a high turnover. Thanks to their design, they provide first-in/first-out product movement while reducing the need for traffic aisles.

Pallet flow racks are available in common depths, from two-through twelve-deep storage. Thus, rail configurations can support a variety of pallet or load flow options, such as deep lane storage and shallow case pick applications.

Our gravity racks are specially configured according to the weight and type of cargo and the types of pallets used and could be roll-formed or structural channel steel fabrication. There are full-width lane rollers for inconsistent or odd-size pallets.

In addition, our pallet flow racks maintain daily operation at low risk. Ramp stops at the exit allow for proper lift truck interaction, and speed controllers create flow separation and prevent runaway pallets in deep lane storage.

How does it work, and are there alternatives?

Gravity flow racks from time to time are compared with Drive-in pallet racking systems, as loaded pallets are moved into the depth of the channel without manual work. Let’s look at how they work.

You should know that the gravity flow racks have an angle of 4 degrees. That’s why we call them gravity. The loaded pallet is moved by gravity independently on roller guides. To ensure safe movement of the pallet in the channel, brake rollers are installed that rotate in the opposite direction and prevent the pallet from moving too fast. A separator separates from the rest of the pallets the one that stands first in the unloading area, so you can easily remove it from the channel.

As with drive-in racking, the warehouse operator does not drive into gravity flow racks, saving time and increasing operational safety.

We can go on explaining and listing the benefits of these racks, as Lenokers has been working and installing/dismantling them all over the world for decades. We know every tiny detail about them. Ask us; we are sure we can fulfill your requirements.
