Purpose

Cantilever racks are the best practice solution for storing long and odd-shaped loads. They withstand high-load capacity and provide convenient direct pick access to the items by handling operations. Here, you can store boards, pipes, tubing, conduit, lumber, etc. With this equipment, you win because you reduce handling time, increase volume for the same footprint, and keep your products safe.

Description

Cantilever racks come in two types: structural and roll-formed.

A structural rack or heavy-duty rack can withstand heavy loads thanks to its hot-rolled structural steel. Their bolts used to connect are of high strength. At the same time, roll-formed racks are suitable for long and medium loads. Therefore, both systems are designed for tiered storage.

By adjusting the number of uprights and profile cross-section, it is possible to obtain the required load-bearing capacity of the structure (the load per cantilever is 5,511 lbs). The tier interval depends on the nature of the load, because more supports are needed to store flexible products safely. Arms can be adjusted on 4” centers and have various angles of incline for load retention.

This is commonly a customized solution that can be modified under the specific cargo and combined with other storage systems. We propose a cantilever length of 8,2 ft.

How about the location?

When it comes to placing, it is possible to use racks in both cases: outside and inside. The one thing we should note is that cantilever racks need a flat concrete base. If you work with bulky items, it’s better to place cantilever racks outside under the canopies to protect products from the effects of precipitation. Placing products outdoors can be great for those that require fresh air and ventilation.

Place the racks on one side of the warehouse wall; such racks are called one-sided cantilever racks. There is also a double-sided type that allows you to store products on both sides. Please make your choice; we are here to implement your ideal solution.

Is there something else for long, bulky items?

Sure. For instance, pipe bunks. However, when using them, you should keep in mind that flexible, long items should not be stored in pipe bunks; otherwise, cracks will appear on the products. Meanwhile, using cantilever racks, you can put a deck on the arms and keep the products intact for a long time. Decked-arm shelves of cantilever racks are available to support wire mesh, plywood or specialized steel decking.

We can go on explaining and listing the benefits of these racks, as Lenokers has been working and installing and dismantling them all over the world for decades. We know every tiny detail about them. Ask us; we are sure we can fulfill your requirements.
