Archival mobile racking works similarly to stationary shelving, but these shelves are mounted on mobile bases that glide along rails. One advantage of these mobile racks is their sheathed sides, which offer convenient support for folders or books.
The electronic control system makes these racks extremely easy and convenient to use. Unlike mechanically controlled mobile racks, these electronically controlled systems save significant time. While an archive worker transports documents or goods to the workspace, the racks can be automatically reconfigured for the next task.
With just a single press of the “left” or “right” button, all racks move in the chosen direction until a new aisle is created.
The racks at the ends of the unit are stationary and can be either one-sided (single) or two-sided (double). The racks in the middle are mobile and double-sided. Each rack section comes with a stopper and an anti-tipping device. Additionally, some sections have diagonal ties for maximum structural stiffness. Thanks to the wide range of rack sizes (length, height, and width), it’s easy to design a mobile archive system for any space and a variety of items. For rooms with complex ceiling shapes or communications, racks can be customized in height to maximize storage capacity.
Additional options enhance the efficiency and customization of these racks to meet specific needs.
